The Story of Abbey Road

Might go like this:

Many years ago, the Tenth order of monks went on a journey to find a site for their new monastery. They searched for seven years. They visited every corner of the kingdom and saw every parcel of land. Finally, they found the site that fulfilled all their desires. The monks requirements where very strict. The site must be large, but intimate; secluded, but accessible. It had to have a lake or a pond with the island. On the island, there should be ten trees, one for each denomination of their order.

The monks proceeded with the construction of the monastery. Stone by stone, the foundation started to take shape. And soon, the beauty of the future structure became apparent.

The wicked Queen from the neighboring kingdom heard about the monk’s project and sent her subjects to see it and bring her a report. Upon their return, the subjects told the queen that the structure they had seen, even though not quite finished, was so beautiful and perfect that it would humble the Queen’s own palace. The jealous and angry Queen got very mad and used her dark magic powers to cast a spell over the monk’s project. She suspended a dark cloud over the entire site and said that, as long as she would be alive, nothing would be built on this land. It became so dark and gloomy, the monks had to abandon the project forever.

For many years, the unfinished monastery site lay undisturbed and forgotten. The weeds covered the unfinished gardens; ivy surrounded the stone walls. The waters of the pond were dark, murky, and only fish and occasional brave birds would disturb the silence of the spell.

One day the young prince, who was traveling through this kingdom, heard about the old monk’s project. He visited the site and was smitten by the land’s beauty. The young prince gathered his solders and went on a journey to get rid of the wicked Queen and her dark spell. They fought seven days and seven nights and when it was all over, the Queen was dead and her dark spell was broken.

The young prince divided the old monk’s property in to Ten parcels of land and ordered his men to build Ten beautiful castles. He gave the castles to the Ten most Nobel men in his kingdom.

The Ten Noble men moved into their castles with their families and named the road “Abbey Road.” There, they lived happily ever after.

The End

Of course, the reality is that the construction on the monastery project was terminated for various reasons, chief among them an economic one.  Presently, the property is subdivided into Ten of the most beautiful lots in the area and became the home for the Ten very lucky men, women and their families.
